Aonde poderia esta estrada poeirenta me levar?
Porque se alegra o riacho com o seu burburinho?
Porque vieram estes pássaros, para mim, cantar,
se integrado na paisagem eu sinto estar sozinho?
Permaneço há tanto tempo sentado neste degrau
da porta desta singela tapera, onde sempre vivi,
que a todos que passam na estrada eu dou sinal
e como ninguém percebe, eu entendo que morri.
