Vida Náufraga

Por tempos minha Vida soçobrou!
Foi Nau lascando os plânctons profundos;
Foi óleo em água; abismo rotundo;
Sorte empoçada em charco lamacento!

Borbulhando! Um Nada me sobrou!
Só ar, soprando a Vida; nauseabundo,
E ausente em dentro dum ventoso mundo,
Impuro, infectado e poeirento!...

Hoje sou Morte estúpida, a soprar
O véu, - e revelá-lo em baforadas -
U'a Vida, que ao abate, deu-se ao mar...

Hoje sou ontem; existência esquecida!
Bolhas que estouram n’alma madrugadas
Vida negrusca; luz submergida!...
