Fui em busca de vãs utopias.
Lutei contra moinhos de vento.
Dei murros em ponta de faca.
Quis reter o ultimo raio de sol
Do poente...
E a última gota de água
Da chuva...
Guardei vaga-lumes brilhantes
Em redomas translúcidas...
Guardei os girinos do rio
Em aquários de vidro...
Enchi vidros de água
Com giz colorido.
Quis reter suas cores...
Acreditei... que não desbotariam.
Desbotam...
As águas... As roupas no varal... As aquarelas...
Desbotam os olhos... e as fotografias...
Não venci os moinhos de vento...
Tenho as mãos machucadas
Das pontas de faca....
O sol não me deu o seu último raio...
E a chuva negou-me sua última gota...
Vaga-lumes não fizeram brilhar
Minha lanterna mágica...
E os girinos do rio não se tornaram
Peixes coloridos...
Viraram sapos!
Que inda hoje coaxam
No brejo das almas...
Onde mora a saudade...
