Teus Olhos (Octavio Paz)
Teus olhos são a pátria do relâmpago e da lágrima,
silêncio que fala,
tempestades sem vento, mar sem ondas,
pássaros presos, douradas feras adormecidas,
topázios ímpios como a verdade,
outono numa clareira de bosque
onde a luz canta no ombro
duma árvore e são pássaros todas as folhas,
praia que a manhã encontra constelada de olhos,
cesta de frutos de fogo,
mentira que alimenta,
espelhos deste mundo, portas do além,
pulsação tranquila do mar ao meio-dia,
universo que estremece,
paisagem solitária.
Octavio Paz Lozano (1914-1998) foi um poeta, ensaísta, tradutor e diplomata mexicano, notabilizado, principalmente, por seu trabalho prático e teórico no campo da poesia moderna ou de vanguarda. Recebeu o Nobel de Literatura de 1990.
