Meu povo é meu abismo.
Nele me perco:
a sua tanta dor me deixa
surdo e cego.
Meu povo é meu castigo
meu flagelo:
seu desamparo,
meu erro.
Meu povo é meu destino
meu futuro:
se ele não vira em mim
veneno ou canto-
apenas morro.
