FESTA NA ALDEIA
Nas festas dos Santos Populares
Há muitos foguetes pelos ares
Na minha aldeia da serra
Que é a minha linda terra
Toda a gente usa roupa nova
Que o bom S. João aprova
Andam todos cheios de vaidade
Mostrando as suas novidades
Bailam as Marias com os Zés
Dança a Marta com o namorado
Todos dançam o corridinho
E o ar cheira a rosmaninho
Até o Ti Chico de perna curta
Dança com a Ti Maria a surda
Ao som de muita concertina
Vestidos com a sua roupa fina
Há carroceis e botequins
À volta do pequeno jardim
Comem bolos e bebem aguardente
Toda a gente está contente
Tocam os sinos da Igreja
Momento que toda a gente deseja
À espera da grande procissão
Em honra do bom S. João
Saem os andores para a rua
E a festa rija continua
Agora é tempo de solenidade
E todos pedem felicidade
A banda toca com respeito
E toda a gente de mão no peito
Pede a S. João com alegria
Que haja sempre romaria
A festa vai a desarmar
Os foguetes já não estalam no ar
A minha aldeia fica silenciosa
Mas também muito presunçosa
