A ESFINGE DE GIZÉ
Corpo de leão, cabeça humana.
O poder absoluto do faraó era notório
Erguida com força sobre-humana
O aposento foi palco de suntuoso velório
Enormes blocos usados nesta construção
Foram entalhados na rocha natural com arte
Ferramentas rudimentares em ação
Os artesãos caprichosos fizeram a sua parte
Foi construída para durar um longo tempo
Obra antiga sobrevive à civilização moderna
Certamente o faraó alcançou o seu intento
Com essa obra conseguirá a vida eterna?
Mas o esforço do faraó teria sido em vão
Historiadores dizem que da estátua tem dó
Todo o material usado na sua construção
Literalmente está se transformando em pó
