A ESFINGE DE GIZÉ

Estátua: Corpo de leão, cabeça humana.

O poder absoluto do faraó era notório

Para erguê-la com força sobre-humana

O aposento foi palco de suntuoso velório

Enormes blocos usados nesta construção

Eram entalhados na rocha natural com arte

Ferramentas rudimentares estiveram em ação

Os artesãos caprichosos faziam a sua parte

Foi construída para durar um longo tempo

Obra antiga sobrevive à civilização moderna

Certamente o faraó alcançou o seu intento

Com esta sua obra conseguirá a vida eterna?

Mas este esforço do faraó terá sido em vão

Historiadores dizem que da estátua tem dó

Todo o material usado na sua construção

Literalmente estão se transformando em pó
