Podia ser uma canção de amor
Podia ser uma canção de amor,
Se o vento soprasse mais devagar,
Se as palavras não fugissem da boca
Como pássaros assustados no crepúsculo do luar.
Podia ser verso, refrão e saudade,
Feito de notas que dançam no ar,
Um sussurro entre as batidas do peito,
Um segredo que insiste em cantar.
Podia ser uma canção de amor,
Se teu nome rimasse com esperança,
Se o silêncio que deixaste ao partir
Ainda tivesse melodia para uma dança.
Mas é só eco — doce, doído —
De algo que quase foi inteiro.
Podia ser canção...
E foi apenas um suspiro derradeiro.
