Deitei os meus olhos no rio...
Está lindo... sereno... e é Azul
O que ele me dá a mostrar

O dorso... é exposto ao céu,
Que neste se espelha, por imaginar

E em cada ondinha só tentada,
Que rio sabe bem qual a sua condição,
Tem gaivotas a se espraiar,
Batendo asas por imitação...

E é do reflexo, o que no fluir das águas
Tem expansão...
E corre... corre... corre, até mais não

Ai, Tejinho, do meu encanto,
Se um dia te fores de mim,
Por favor, di-lo...

Di-lo sem qualquer pranto,
Que eu irei para bem pertinho de  ti,
Deitar-me no teu manto...
