Tenho o fado na alma
Neste sentido de viver,
Espero com toda acalma
Até a noite aparecer.

Nesta razão de ser
Encontro em todo o lado,
Amor e ternura,
De cantar este meu fado.

Fado vadio
Fado castiço
Fado na vida
E nação.
É com orgulho que canto
Este fado até mais não.
