Gosto dos palhaços!
Não daqueles que nos envenenam a vida
Com as palhaçadas, tristes de hipocrisia
Mas daqueles que nas pistas nos fazem rir
Com ar de desajeitados e de pura fantasia

Gosto dos palhaços!
Vê-los nas suas fatiotas brilhantes prateadas
Entram na pista e as crianças ficam encantadas
Olhos arregalados, rir de felicidade, aplausos
Desde que há uma farsa não perdem pitada.

Gosto dos palhaços!
Hoje vou ao circo, acompanho as crianças
Nos seus rires, que lembram a minha mocidade
Crescemos e o circo da vida nada tem para rir
Mas para uma labuta constante pela verdade.

Gostos dos palhaços!
Ainda hoje eles me fazem rir
