Balada dos sinos

Aonde foram parar os sinos
Que toavam na minha canção
- Tantas vezes ouvi seus hinos
Badalando meu coração

Lá tiniam docemente
Cada melodia de paz;
Talvez fosse outra gente
Ou o canto não me satisfaz

Talvez seja da angústia,
Que o canto, grades me traz;
Chora e chora todos os dias,
Lágrimas dos sinos da paz

Vão chorando na nossa gente
Num silêncio de alegria;
Choram nas palavras da mente
E no peito se ouvia

Em torres esguias badalam
Chamando pelo meu olhar...
Só os oiço quando calam
A doçura que os faz chorar.
