Um homem, que toda a vida
Passou fomes por querer,
Co'a muita debilidade
Poz-se em termos de morrer.
Doctor, que de graça o vía,
E co'a doença atinava,
Off'receu-lhe uns certos dôces,
Para vêr se o melhorava.
«Obrigado (eis lhe responde
O enfermo, estendendo a mão)
Dê cá. . . Bom será guardal-os
Para maior precisão.»
