Disse um Avicena ao ver
Certo doente: «É confusa
Esta molestia; por tanto
A maligna se reduza.»

Eis a mão faccinorosa
Lavra potente receita,
Que anonyma enfermidade
Torna em maligna perfeita.

Co'a prompta metamorphose
O infesto doctor se alegra,
E diz sorrindo-se: «Agora
Se matar, mato com regra !
