Reis, princesas e infantes
Foge de mim um sonho
Que é ter mando e ser rei
Dos anfíbios e das charcas,
Mas a chuva só cai longe
Os barcos não me levam
Onde há sapais e charcos,
O meu grande desejo é
Escutar de noite e sempre
Infantas que foram agora
Sapas e eu rei das poças
Nem, quanto mais ouvi-los
Coaxar às noivas-infantas
Pedindo beijos nas bochechas
Gordas e verdes, ranhosas
Como sapos as têm, tolos
Anfíbios das poças de lodo
E eu nem rei nem bote
Onde nem sapais há ou charcas,
Foge de mim o sonho,
Que é ter mando ou sorte
