Vivo um amor obscuro
Tentando encontrar o de alguém...
Caminho, caminho, só trevas,
E esse ingrato amor não vem!
O coração, em prantos declara
Em intensa voz sonora,
Que esse amor, ingrato amor,
N'alguma alma mora!
As lágrimas novo lugar procuram
Onde disfarçar o pranto,
Desiludidas desse amor ingrato,
Choram, e somem, e gritam, e agitam tanto!
O peito, já escondido na dor,
Entristece o espírito sereno...
E esse amor, ingrato amor demora
A surgir, a chegar, a vir no tempo!
