Para quê tanta vozearia?!
Se estou à beira de quase nada
Sómente a solidão e mais um dia
E o velho abrigo da memória cansada.
Já o tempo em mim se perdera
E eu sorri mesmo com o dia feio
Mas o tempo só tristezas gera
Esqueço a mulher que se escondeu p'lo meio.

Espreito a gaveta dos retratos velhos
Como cisne, chega a hora, choro e canto.
Lembro a outra que se via aos espelhos,
Já a noite me cobre com seu triste manto.
Trago meus pulsos cansados
Dias partidos, gastos de sentimentos
Palavras gastas, gritos estrangulados

Caminho a passos lentos.

Sinto a morte a crescer lentamente
No meu corpo e eu ainda viva
Para quê ao meu redor tanta gente?!
Se não há gesto, nem embalo que me sirva!?

Falem, falem, digam o que lhes aprouver
Chamem-me louca, ou sombra de mim
Que hei-de ouvir-vos enquanto puder
Pois estando viva, me sinto morta sim!
